"A Thousand Miracles"
Scribblings
Oliver kicked off his red rubbers. Barefooted splashing was so much better! But the kicked-off galoshes caught the eye of someone else. They were the perfect perch for just a moment – until the Chirpster ruffled his feathers, ready to make his own little splash of the day.
The Story Behind the Shot
I spotted a pair of vintage red rubbers in a shop for $28. I passed them by, but they wouldn't leave my thoughts. They took me back to the 1960s. I remembered a particular puddle on the broken macadam behind my dad’s 1950s Chevy pickup. I eventually went back for them—some memories are worth much more than $28.
