Dimples spotted the red caps. This was his chance to taste the dark tickle-water for the first time. It should be sipped; Dimples recklessly upended the bottle. A thousand tiny bubbles exploded, instantly inflating his cheeks. His whiskers vibrated. His nose tickled. He clamped his mouth shut to trap the "giggle-bubbles" inside. Now what? Should he swallow? What if he burped? Were his cheeks about to reach maximum pressure and simply explode?

The Story Behind the Shot

I’ve always felt that this little red Tonka truck deserved a job for every season. While brainstorming its summer "assignment," a wave of nostalgia hit me: Camping. Both Brian and I grew up camping in the great outdoors. We specifically remembered the iconic green Coleman coolers our families always carried. Brian's daughter, Heather, 3D-printed a custom cooler designed to look just like the ones from our childhood. She even stocked it with tiny ice cubes and those unmistakable red-capped pop bottles.

The scene grew. I sourced fabric to glue together tiny sleeping bags, complete with cozy flannel linings. Brian and I even constructed a pup tent for the background! The 4x6 crop meant the tent had to be set aside. (A 12"x24" canvas would show the whole scene.) The final touch is the single marshmallow on a stick peeping into the frame. I grew up with chipmunks as constant campsite companions. I was thrilled when Dimples arrived on the scene!
