The Story Behind the Photo
This keyboard has a special history—it’s from my childhood piano. After may years, it could no longer be tuned. It was just too expensive to fix; so we had to say goodbye. But before we did, Brian saved the keys for me.

Setting this up was definitely a labor of love! To get that glowing autumn background just right, we had to place the keyboard about 30 inches above our deck railing. It was a precarious setup. I always chuckle and say, "My husband must love me an awful lot" to help me pull this off.

I used a few sunflower seeds to invite my backyard friends down to the keys, then cleared them away so the focus stayed on the bird and the music.

Scribblings
A Tufted Titmouse landed on the keys. He cocked his head, listening to the silent, unplayed ivory. The colors of the red rose sang. He opened his beak with a bright silver whistle of praise.
