"Fluffy Bluebird"
Scribblings
It was early spring. The kind of day all splashy with sunshine but with winter’s chill in the air. Silas fluffed to her puffiest, enjoying the warmth of her soft, downy feathers.
The Story Behind the Shot
"Fluffy Bluebird" is a classic. It was captured in early spring using a FinePix HS50EXR (before my Nikon). The handle in the photograph belongs to a vintage tea kettle. While it's not visible in the close-up, the copper of the pot echoes the orange feathers on the bluebird's chest. At the time of the shot, seeing a bluebird on the property was a rare and exciting event. Since then, these birds have officially decided to call the land home. Silas' signature feathery fluff and that unmistakable charming twinkle have beguiled many a visitor to our booth.
