A book should be a standard part of a kid’s Christmas gift. (Do you hear the reading specialist coming out in me? LOL!) This book list for elementary children has one thing in common: gorgeously photographed illustrations with great stories and information that takes kids into the wild. Some are fiction; other are true. Don’t let the ages noted on the books fool you. They’re going to charm the livin’ daylights out of you too!
As a sidenote, children need a lot more non-fiction (true books) incorporated into their reading diet. The structure of true books is different from fiction. Boys tend to like non-fiction; especially the finicky ones.
